Refraction
Refraction is a process that determines the type of correction your vision needs. During your eye exam, we perform a comprehensive refraction to accurately assess your vision. We also ask you questions about your lifestyle, hobbies, and work to better understand your visual needs. This information allows us to provide personalized recommendations for the best prescription and lenses to meet your individual needs.
Eye Exam
A comprehensive eye exam involves a series of tests that allow our eye doctors to evaluate the health of your eyes and the state of your vision. We recommend you have a comprehensive eye exam every year. In addition to offering comprehensive eye exams and prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses we also diagnose and treat a wide range of ocular conditions such as dry eyes, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, corneal disorders, macular degeneration, cataracts, etc.
Prescription Glasses and Frames
We carry a wide array of eyeglasses for adults and children. We do offer specialty fit frames (larger sizes and petite sizes specialty bridge etc). Our frame stylists will help you find the best frame that fits your style and your budget. You can choose among the well known brands listed below.
Need glasses ASAP ? We do have an on site lab and are able to fill a wide range of prescriptions the same day. Please note that progressives and more complex prescriptions take additional time.
There has been a lot of innovation and improvement in the lens technology lately. Not all lenses are created equal and that accounts for the variability in pricing between different opticals. At Brunner Eye Care we have made a decision that we will always offer our patients the most technologically advanced progressives, single vision lenses, antireflective coatings, transitions etc. It is our job to ensure our patients get the clearest vision possible and lens technology plays a big part in the clarity of vision. We only fit and dispense the lenses we ourselves would wear.
Note: We are proud to note that we have very few patients in our office that cannot adopt to the progressives. Do NOT be afraid of progressive lenses, the newest technology is amazing.
About Contact Lenses and Contact Lens Fitting
Contact lens fitting is an additional procedure that the doctors will preform in order to determine what is the best contact lens for you. Our eye doctors will carefully consider your prescription, any health concerns (dryness, corneal health) as well as your lifestyle when recommending contact lenses. We fit spherical, toric, multifocal and multifocal toric soft lenses as well as RGP lenses.
There have been many recent advances in the contact lens technology. The lenses of today are very different from the lenses from 5 years ago. We have wonderful multifocal contact lenses that allow our patients to see far and read without needing readers. We have contact lenses that block blue light. We have many options for people that struggle with dry eyes etc. Our doctor will be happy to discuss all the options available for your prescription and your needs.
Urgent Eye Care
Experiencing flashes, floaters, pain, redness or anything that you feel is urgent - please call the office and we will make every effort to see you as soon as possible.
Health and Vision Insurance
We accept most major health and vision insurances. We work with VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision, BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, Medicare, United Healthcare. Please contact us to check if we participate with your particular plan.
